Change is an inevitable phenomenon. The inquiry at hand pertains to our level of preparedness. Based on my personal experiences, it is evident that transformation is occurring in various facets of our lives. This includes continuous advancements in technology, which often leaves us struggling to keep up with the latest developments. Additionally, evidence-based research plays a crucial role in guiding healthcare policies, which are constantly being regenerated to ensure that patients receive high-quality care (Heath & Porter, 2019). While certain individuals may resist the adoption of new practices and cling to traditional methods, others readily welcome the constant cycle of transformation.

To promote and enact constructive transformation, I must exemplify the role of a transformative agent. In addition, I intend to utilize interpersonal skills such as proficient communication to facilitate the dissemination of information and comprehension of the transition among peers. According to Heinen et al. (2019), the implementation of new practices is often perceived as a challenge to the comfort and confidence of staff members, particularly those with extensive experience. Frequently, this apprehension may manifest as rigidity or antagonism, potentially causing detriment to the organization’s overarching culture. Incorporating personnel in the decision-making procedure can effectively transform adversaries into collaborators and mitigate apprehension and opposition toward modifications.

Primarily, it is noteworthy that change does not necessarily have to be perceived as unfavorable. According to Yoder-Wise and Sportsman (2022), coaching and mentoring can present a novel avenue for individuals to attain excellence. By embracing change as a customary procedure that has the potential to bring about favorable outcomes in our operations, we grant our personnel the ability to adopt a similar mindset.

No matter what we do, what our background is, or what our beliefs are; change is inevitable. I am adamant that change is needed and necessary in any domain. My reaction to change is that it should be welcome more and not have a negative connotation. I have always welcomed change, weather good or bad. I see change as a way to mature and become a better, wiser person. Change especially disruptive changes can reveal their strength to an individual. Gilbert & Bower (2002) believes that disruptive change are sudden changes to an organization; they create a lot of stress and tension amongst leaders and their followers which openly influences a portion of a business. One of my most influential tools is my faith in God. Changes are not always an easy process, and this is where my faith is stronger than ever. I believe that with God all things are possible; it does matter if it is a new mission, a hiccup in an original plan; God will see me succeed. The Bible states, “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes (New International Version, Mark 9:23). Other variables I utilize are my tenacity, ambitious ways, and my love for trying to be like Jesus by helping those in need even in the workplace.

I enjoyed Topic 4 and creating a change model. Using a model is critical to implementing a strategic process to integrate change and the steps necessary for success. Many models contain common strategies, but this assignment allowed for a model conducive to my organization’s culture and field.

The application of a change model is something I will apply to change initiatives in my career moving forward.

I had not officially used a model to guide change processes previously, so using a model moving forward will likely decrease any failed change projects.

I cannot think of anything not covered in the course needing more opportunity. The class offered a variety of helpful resources, and I enjoyed the communication resources in Topic 5. Benchmark assignments due every other week allowed for time to read and learn from the resources, making the course pace manageable and even fun. Thank you!
